NETWORKING ACTIVITIES

The IGM-Unit of Bologna started the activity of the Italian Laminopathies Network in 2009 and is the coordinating center of the Network.

The Italian Laminopathies Network (NIL) brings together the Italian centers involved in clinical investigation and research in the field of pathologies caused by mutations of the lamin A/C and other proteins of the nuclear envelope.

NIL also has a website providing updated information on the diseases, the centers involved and the progress of scientific research. Meetings held every six months at the Bologna Unit allow for the sharing of basic and clinical research lines, discussions with patient associations, the construction of scientific projects and clinical trials.

The IGM-Unit of Bologna is a partner of the European project ERA-NET E-RARE TREAT-HGPS

In addition, the researchers of the Bologna Unit are involved in various national and international networks with the aim of promoting translational medicine approaches:

  • EPTRI – European Pediatric Translational Research Infrastructure
  • ECLip – European Consortium for Lipodytrophies
